I Deserve to Exist

Discovering the Power of Self-Acceptance

Even though one of the most significant events in my life happened last month – watching my worldly possessions being loaded onto a van and driven away, a voluntary act on my part – it wasn’t the most life-changing thing that occurred.

Even though I arrived in this new and dazzling place, (Tavira’s everyday sunshine and warm weather  in October contrasted with my usual October experiences in the UK) feeling an immediate sense of belonging, I can’t help but ponder how things might have turned out very differently. I’m grateful for the way they did, but it wasn’t the most transformative event of the month.

I could continue on and on delving into the numerous “firsts” and unfamiliar experiences of moving abroad, leaving behind the comforts of my old life. However, let me share the most profound revelation, the true turning point in my life up to right now. No matter what the future holds, right now, this is the most significant change that has happened to me – and it shocks me.

I realized that I deserve to exist.

It seems I hadn’t known this before!  It’s astonishing to me to imagine how this belief, that I didn’t have the right to exist, managed to take root in my mind. Whoever thinks of such a thing? One would assume that if you’re here, you have the right to be here. After all, being born is the qualification, isn’t it? What’s truly remarkable to me is discovering the strong visceral reaction I had to those four simple words.

The catalyst for this transformative realization came unexpectedly. I stumbled upon a course and a teacher, Edward Mannix, who seemed to provide answers that resonated with my current life stage. They say that when the student is ready, the right teacher appears, and Edward Mannix turned out to be that teacher.  I’ve been guided to study many times in my life because of that maxim.  The course was titled “Clearing the Lightworker Persecution Imprint,” and it was as clear and straightforward as its name suggests. Even if you don’t identify with the label lightworker*, the concept of a Persecution Imprint struck a chord with me.

Compassion: The Key to Positive Change

In the quest for personal transformation, compassion is the linchpin. It’s the catalyst for healing, self-acceptance, and a brighter future.

Compassion for past experiences and our reactions can heal lingering traumas, shaping a better attitude, greater tolerance, and improved self-acceptance in the present. This, in turn, paves the way for better choices in the future.

The revelation that we have a right to exist, often overlooked, underscores the need for self-compassion. By shining a light on the truth and unearthing hidden realities, our higher self discerns the path that aligns with our highest good, creating an elegant, transformative system.

Embrace compassion as your guiding star on the journey to personal growth and self-acceptance. Illuminate your path, and embrace a more fulfilling, authentic life.

*A lightworker is an individual who helps others and the world at large. Anyone might be a lightworker, from medical professionals to life coaches. It’s said that they can alter people’s perspectives and attitudes. If you’re sensitive and have a desire to help, then perhaps you are a lightworker.
